A phonics tool you can try
on Monday morning
Classroom mode turns Little Sprigs into a lesson tool for the whiteboard or shared tablets β and it stores nothing about any pupil. No accounts, no names, no roster. That means no data-processing agreement and no waiting on the principal to try it.
Open the app & switch on classroom modeWhat classroom mode gives you
ποΈ A class board, not a child's game
The app opens on a board built for teaching: this week's letter set as tappable tiles (tap a letter, hear its sound; tap a word, hear it read), every activity launchable in one tap, and a log of what the class did today.
π― Every activity mapped to the curriculum
Each game shows what it teaches in plain words and the PLC or PMC outcome behind it β Sound Safari is Reading 5, Word Builder is Writing 4 β so it slots straight into your planning.
π Everything unlocked, nothing scored
Your class is on whatever set your scheme says this week, so nothing is locked and no stars or scores appear. Finishing an activity gets a quiet tick, not a celebration screen.
π Nothing stored about any pupil
Deliberately. No register, no names, no per-child progress. The only thing saved on the device is the classroom-mode switch itself and today's activity log, cleared with one button.
The content, in classroom terms
Literacy β PLC Stage 1
All 42 sounds in seven sets, in the order your school teaches them: s a t i p n first, or a m s t p f i n first β you choose in Settings. Blending, segmenting, capitals and letter names, tricky words, first sentences with position words, letter tracing. Every word list is decodable using only the graphemes taught to that point.
Maths β PMC Stage 1
Counting and subitising, combining sets, patterns (AB β ABC β AABB), 2-D shapes, and money in a pretend shop.
Gaeilge β teanga Γ³ bhΓ©al
First spoken Irish: dathanna, ainmhithe agus uimhreacha β spoken aloud, oral before written, with praise as Gaeilge inside the Irish activity. Made for Gaeilge time in English-medium infant classes.
How schools use it
Free for the classroom, today
Classroom mode and Set 1 are free. Try it on the whiteboard this week β it runs in the browser on any school device, nothing to install.
A per-classroom licence from January
From January, a flat per-classroom licence unlocks every set for the whiteboard and shared tablets, invoiced to the school β it never charges parents. Families who want it at home take their own subscription, with a discount for your school community.
Pilot schools wanted
We're inviting a small number of schools to pilot Little Sprigs this year and shape what gets built next. Teaching through Irish? We're planning a version as Gaeilge, and we'd love your help shaping it. Email schools@littlesprigs.ie.
